  Online cab aggregator Uber, under the leadership of Dara Khosrowshahi, is making a renewed effort to win back India market. Hoping to expand its user base as well as increasing its popularity in tier-III cities, Uber has introduced a data-light version of its app. Realising that it needs to increase its user base beyond the English-speaking population, the firm has launched the Uber Lite app in seven Indian languages. While Uber did not elaborate on its local language plans, the company, which has a strong team of more than 150 engineers, data scientists, analysts, language experts based out of Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is planning to go for a major overhauling in its app to bring in regional language speakers into its fold.

In a major boost to affordable housing, the government on Tuesday said it has raised the carpet area of houses eligible for subsidy under Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) by 33 per cent for the Middle-Income Group (MIG) segment. "These enhancements will now enable more MIG customers to qualify for subsidy and avail the benefits provided under the ambitious flagship mission of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)," the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said in a statement.

Tata Power Company has reported consolidated Q1FY19 net profit at Rs 1,769 crore, which includes one-time gain on sale of its investments of Rs 1,897 crore. The company had posted net profit of Rs 391 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Revenue of the company was up 14 percent at Rs 7,313 crore against Rs 6,415 crore.
